Yuba College ADN 2021 Hopefuls

Published

Hello everyone! I just finished my prerequisites and will be applying for Yuba College's ADN program next month. I didn't see a thread for 2021, so I thought I'd start one. Hopefully, anyone else who is applying for the program can gather here to find support and encouragement.

I think I will apply to Chico but my points are very borderline depending on if I can secure some documentation letters. None the less I will submit even if I’m 3-4 short of the cut off.

Right on, I hear Chico has an awesome program. I took my TEAS again and scored a 92! I'm so excited. So that puts me at 69.5 points. I talked to a counselor and was warned that this application period may be extra competitive because there are schools including Los Rios that aren't taking applicants due to COVID. So he expects a lot of those students to apply at Yuba. That worries me, but I have tried my best and that's all I can do. ?

Hi guys!

I applied for Spring 2021 with 70 points. I am nervous applying with my points, how did everyone else do?

Hi Jasmine21! I applied last night as well, with 69.5 points. What time did you get your application in? I heard that the last application period there were a few students who had the same points, so it came down to timestamp!

@FutureNurse88 Hi! I first finished it last night, but ended up editing it this morning so I officially submitted this morning. Oh WOW!, I hope we get in! (Fingers crossed). I heard a couple other schools were taking applications again which they weren't originally because of Covid. I hope we're good and hopefully get in everywhere we will/have applied!

@Jasmine21 I was trying to open the application at midnight but it wasn't working for me, was it the same for you? I didn't start my application until after 1am, so my timestamp is 1:25am. I hope we get in as well! Where else did you apply? I am banking on Yuba because I live so close by, I really don't want to commute anywhere else. I'm so nervous!!

Hello FutureNurse88, I was also having the same problem when trying to apply last night. Maybe the application was setup in a different time zone, but who knoes.

@edp445 I was wondering the same! I also noticed that on the Congratulations/confirmation page, the dates were wrong. It said we'd receive an email regarding application status by the 1st Friday in April. Was yours outdated as well?

I believe my app said 2nd Friday in October.

@FutureNurse88 The application didn't open for me at midnight either. I believe it opened around 1am so I had submitted it but I went back and corrected in the morning around 9:30am.

Oh nice! I'm sure there are a lot of applicants who aren't even aware that it can possibly come down to timestamp. I hope to see you all at orientation!! ???

hello everyone! I didn't know about the time stamp but submitted my app early on the 25th...good thing I didn't wait! I wasnt in a rush just wanted to get it done! how do you know about the time stamp? Im on the lower end of the overall score with a 67 so the time stamp maybe in my favor...ahhh im nervous! I am also upset at ARC for not accepting applications because I don't want all of their applicants to come our way! good luck to you all!

Hello! ?

I found out about the timestamp by speaking with someone from the nursing department. She told me that in the last application cycle there were a few applicants with the same points, so they had to determine who got in based on the timestamp. I think I remember also reading that in the student handbook, not sure though! I was also told that the cutoff last time was 64-65 pts, so hopefully, it's the same this time! I guess it does depend on the number of applicants applying though. I am really hoping that other program closures due to COVID don't affect our chances ? Good luck to you as well!
