But you can't take Texas out of the Girl.so here's my situation. I'm a native Taxan living for the last 11 years in California. I recently finished nursing school and am dying to go back home. So, does anyone know what starting pay for a new grad is in San Antonio, Austin or Dallas. My family and I (hubby and 2 rug-rats) are ready to try something new and moving back to texas sound great.
Any info would be great, Thanks
In houston and ADN graduate starts around $23 -I don't know the difference for BSN or differentials. I know the feeling about wanting to come back. I left for a year and came back! There is no place like Texas!:redpinkhe

thanks, i'll mark that down. out here kaiser is offering almost 40 for new grads but its extremely expensive to live here
If I remember correctly, these are the starting pays in the the D/FW area....ADN or BSN. I don't think there's an hourly difference, but some hospitals may give more for a BSN.
Of course these are base pays....differentials vary among the hospitals as well.
UTSW (Zale Lipshy and St. Paul) - $23
Baylor in the Dallas area - $21
HCA facilities - $22.85
Methodist facilities $21.00-22.00-ish (Can't remember this one exactly.)
Parkland (Dallas county hospital) - $23.88
I'm not sure about Children's, THR, Harris, JPS (Tarrant county hospital), so there's more to look into.
