Your advice to students...

Supposedly there is this high school graduate from the Philippines who wishes to work/migrate abroad using any health care profession as her means....

What strategy and what country (US aside) would you advice to this person if its goal is to go out the least expensive way and with the least time possible (no marriage with other national)?

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Much better to decide on which country you want to live not where you can go. Most countries require RN and will not accept LPN, plus some of these countries expect you to complete a course of some sort which you have to pay for. Every country will also require time as your training will need to be evaluated and assessed to make sure your training matches their training, also local exam may be required. I doubt there is a country that has a quick time frame to move to and be able to work

Thank you silverdragon...

A four year BSN is needed for almost every country, so there is not a short cut available. And if using that as a means to get out of the country, then they may not be happy as a nurse and will not survive in the field.

You are looking at about four years for school and then most are now requiring two years of work experience before they will permit you to get a visa for their country. And things are going to get tighter with the number of graduates in the programs in your country.

Unless they have always wished to be a nurse, would not consider it at this point. Definitely, if looking just for the fastest way out.
