York/Seneca 1st year looking to swap schedule.

Published

Hi everyone!

I am starting the York/Seneca 4 years collaborative Nursing this September, and I got a schedule that makes it hard for me to pick my son up from a daycare since 1 day I finish at 6pm and another one at 7pm.

Anyone has a schedule with courses no later than 5pm, hates it and wants to switch?

That would be a great help for me.

My schedule is like this:

Monday: 1 lecture: 11:40 - 13:30

Tuesday: 2 lectures: 8:00-10:45, 12:35-14:25

Wednesday: 1 lecture: 15:20-18:05

Thursday: 3 lectures: 11:40-13:30, 14:25-17:10, 17:10-19:00

Friday: no lectures (one online thingy that can be accessed at any time according to the scheduling office).

You can't just swap schedules with someone else. This is the program you have been accepted into, this is the schedule you will have to work around.

Thank you, but this is incorrect. It is what the head of the scheduling department told me. She said that if I find someone who is willing to swap she is going to do it.

You mean someone from another program at another school can take your place?

Of course not. Someone from my school and from the same program, but who got a different schedule. They randomly assigned predefined schedules, and now they don't want to change these unless students find each other and agree to swap between themselves.

I think you should remove the other students' names. I know you are looking for help but I really don't think this is the way to go about it.

I didn't post any students' names, and posting lecture numbers, times and the lecturers who teach them at these particular times, are not infringement of any privacy.

Do you have access to your online Blackboard? I forgot how to do it but there's a link somewhere where you can send a mass email to your classmates. Another way is to join a York/Seneca Nursing facebook group and do a little announcement there. I'm not sure how successful you will be but at least it's something. If you know what time and the location of the other class, you can attend it one day and ask the prof to make an announcement for you, if they're kind enough.

Unfortunately, I know a lot of my friends and classmates don't like the evening classes when I was still in my program because by the time you get home it's quite dark already. Do the best you can.

27400, thanks! I don't have the link. I think the first year students don't have it. And the scheduling coordinator is away until September. FB group is a splendid idea, I will do it too, thanks. I hope I will find someone at the orientation if nothing else fails. We will see. :nurse:

I think the best idea is to wait until orientation. You never know, something may change in that first week.

And the orientation was canceled, because of strike :uhoh3:

Damn it!
