Has anyone attended YCP? I am specifically looking at the distance learning courses for my RN to BSN and then eventually Masters program. I am interested in knowing what there support is like and what the clinicals intel. I know they say you set them up...but I also have to work full time(have a family) so I am trying to figure out if it is doable on a part time schedule. I know when I did my associates it was a part time program but it was a killer with the clinicals and such.
Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Stacy

Hi Stacy,
I hope you get some feedback. I asked about York college a few weeks back but didn't receive any replies. I love the fact that they let you do something like 30 CLEP credits! Thats off the hook, UOM would only take 6 CLEP credits total. If you find anything out please PM me and I'll do the same. Good luck, Jules

They really don't do the online option at YCP. You can do parttime until clinicals. As far as I know, they set up the clinicals, you might have a little say in it, but not much. Clinicals are really competitive in this area of PA. My friend is currently doing her clinicals through YCP and she's on night shift - bummer! But, overall, she has loved the program. It's taken her 5 years to do it partime - but that's really parttime time - one class here and one there. She just started her second semester of clinicals.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for writing Beth. Very cool that you have the option of doing it at our own pace. Wish your friend the best. Jules

I went to YCP! I don't really know anything about the distance learning, but I can tell you that it is a great school. The clinicals are mostly at York Hospital or Memorial Hospital, both of which are great with students. I don't know anyone who is unsatisfied with the nursing program there.
Thanks to all for your replies. It is helping me make my decision. I am know between two schools. YCP and PSU's online program and I am leaning towards YCP.

I was looking into different program options too. PSU would give me more credit for the courses I already took in nursing school than ycp would. just some food for thought. I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet either.
