Tom, yoga would definately help your body and perhaps your game. Definately will help with stiffness. Many atheletes incorporate yoga.
I dabble in yoga, but for about three years was a regular practioner. I'm slowly getting back into it. I quit about 8 months ago when my budget wouldn't allow me to take classes, but was too lazy to do it at home. I miss it.

my back and my quadriceps have gotten so stiff with all my health problems over the last 7 months. I will try some yoga at lifetimes.
Just now I took a class of Yoga. When I started to Yoga class at first time, I felt my body has some stiff, in particular compared our drillmaster. I had gotten some effect after practicing yoga for six or eight weeks. Now I feel better. I think that Yoga would help anyone. After one month, sometimes I practice at home when I cannot go to gymnasium and follow the drillmaster.
When I am good, I will do maybe 6 yoga classes in a week. When I am bad, 0 - 3/ week. I practice a "power yoga" which is similar to the ashtanga primary series but without some of the twisting floor poses. When I am practicing regularly, my body is very happy. My back feels loose, I am more calm, my circulation is good, etc.
Without yoga, my back starts to hurt, my knees hurt, my hips feel tight, my neck gets sore - I feel geriatric.
Yoga is so healing - especially for us nurses.

I have practicing Yoga in gymnasium for ten months. I have gotten some benefit from practicing Yoga. And my flexibility becomes better. I think that I can develop this habit.
Yoga is a good way for rest and exercise. Do you practice yoga?
