Hello! I'm planning to take a 1 year post-registration course at Flinders University. I have no work experience as a nurse but I'm a registered nurse here in the Philippines. I only volunteered in a hospital for 1 month. What are the chances after I finished the 1 year course that I would find a job? Thank you.

to be honest, it will be very difficult for you if you only have 1 year experience. you will be competing with other nurses from around the world with a lot of work experience to offer to prospective employer.
but i guess it's a start to have an RN registration here. at least when you find an employer, or if you have more experience, and the immigration is still favorable, then you'd be ready. i know someone without a work experience, finished the 1-year conversion program at Flinders and was able to find a sponsor.
Good Luck.

Hi lairou! Are you for this upcoming July intake at Flinders University? I'm waiting for the unis response regarding my application. Hoping to find friends who'll be on the same path with me :)
Hello lilo.. I'm aiming for the February intake next year. :) I'm scheduled to take my IELTS on April 27 and I don't want to rush things so I'm aiming for next year to enroll. Do you have any hospital experience? What year did you graduate? :)

hi lairou, i and my friend are applying for February intake next year too. we are going to take ielts maybe in june. where did you hear about flinders? do u know anyone who has studied in flinders? i have a 1.5years of experience in different hospitals but theyre all unpaid experiences so i guess they cant be considered.
@Lairou, im not sure though if i could still make it this July. Im not quite sure if they only need a 6.5 for the ielts at flinders uni, but try your best to get the 7 in all skills for AHPRA,once your done with the 1 yr program. Good luck
Forgt to answer your questions, i graduated way back.. 2009 but have very limited experience that's why I've decided to take a year program.
hello stacey. I just finished my IELTS yesterday and I'm praying that I get 7 in all modules. I heard Flinders from IDP. I do not know anyone who studied there. I think unpaid experiences can be considered in applying to APHRA, but I'm not sure about the schools who offers the bridging program.
Hi lilo. :)
I'm really happy to know someone who's planning the same as me. I do not have any relatives in Australia so if ever that I'll get accepted in Flinders, I will be all alone. Do you have relatives there?
hello iamnomad. does your friend, the one who finished the 1 year conversion program, have a nursing specialty? like trainings in hemodialysis unit or other specialty areas? thanks. =)

Hi Lairou, I would like to know if you are enrolled at Flinders University? Are you taking up a Bachelor in Nursing Registered Nurse Entry in 2014?
