Hi All,
I have been on the lookout for the 2020 thread but figured that I'll have to create one. I am sorry if there is one that I am not aware of.
I am a 2020 hopeful that is looking to make a career switch. I was at one of the information sessions where I gained further insights on the application process and the program. I took the GRE yesterday and was around the 50th percentile for both Q&V.
One of the changes to this years' requirements is that you don't need the GRE if you already have a masters degree or would complete one before the start of the 2020 session. I haven't taken the major prerequisites, but I will take and complete them in the summer of 2020.
I will start talking to my recommenders from next week, I have a tentative list that I composed with a view of having them tell different stories about my candidacy.
May I crave the indulgence of both current and past GEPNs and the benevolence of prospective class of 2020 to make this thread the best one yet. Your views and insights are welcome and appreciated!

I'm sorry. That's really horrible that you had such a good experience and were told she'd give you a recommendation, that sounds very misleading. The financial aid email was sent to everyone. Did you apply anywhere else?
As for knowing I'm on the waitlist, it says it in my portal.
I just found out I got into the PMHNP program, so relieved. Congratulations to everyone else who did. To those who didn't, this is my third year applying to the Yale program (first year I was wait-listed, second year I didn't even get an interview), so don't feel too discouraged, and don't give up. In the intervening 2 years I took the prerequisite courses (A&P I and II, Development through the Lifespan, Nutrition, Biostatistics, Microbiology) most other schools ask for, and worked full time as a PCT at a hospital.

Guys, I started a facebook group for anyone who will be enrolling!
Can you please add me? Just sent a request on Facebook!

Aww! Do you know what happens during admitted student day? I can’t find any posts about it online.

Hi there Alfazzani, I feel similarly to you. I reached out to discuss how I can improve on components of my candidacy for the future and they were very welcome to it, which is kind. I just wanted to let you know that you're not the only one feeling this way. I know it is hard. Let us remind each other that this setback does not stop us from our ultimate goal of becoming amazing nurses.

ErrantNights, your acceptance has been a long time coming and incredibly well-deserved! I am so happy for and inspired by you. Thank you for sharing your application journey!
Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! I am excited for all of you. And to those of us who weren't, we should still be proud of ourselves for making it this far. I am not so good at keeping up with online conversations, but I've peeked in here to see all of your lovely comments. Like y'all have said, this forum is full of caring and generous people. I know all of us will end up where we are meant to be. ❤️

I also did not get accepted, I was waitlisted. I'm disappointed but truthfully not surprised. I did not have a good interview experience and was basically told that without direct shadowing experience with an NP in the specialty I could not know if the field was for me. I was also a little taken aback by their answer to types of clinical placements they have and was told that sometimes social workers are the preceptors. I'm mostly just nervous that I won't get in anywhere, but perhaps Yale is not the right place for me. Congratulations to all who were accepted!
