Hi, everyone. I am applying to the Yakima branch of the WSU BSN program for the Fall 2021 cohort. As I'm sure everyone is or was, I am pretty nervous about the application process and am wanting to get a sense of where I may stand as an applicant. I would love to hear other's thoughts/concerns/comments they had about the application and interview process.
My CUM GPA is a 3.51 and my pre-req GPA is a 3.42. Having worked as a CNA over the Summer and other volunteer opportunities, I have about 282 experience hours. For Fall 2021, WSU Nursing has waived the TEAS exam.
I know GPA is a primary factor in the decision process, and I am reaching out to hear other's GPA's upon application and if they were accepted into the program
Thank you so much, and go cougs!

The cost estimate said it would be approximately 700/year for books, but it's showing about $900 for only some of the classes if you get new books with the access codes! For one semester! That's crazy to me.
Hi! I'm just wondering if your myWSU still says that your application for WSU Spokane is still "complete- under review" ?
Hi everyone,
I am really new here. I am planning to transfer in WSU yakima/tri-cities/spokane after I finished my pre-requisites in nursing. I am just wondering if what are the requirements for applying? Do I need to work as CNA or have volunteering hours? Do they required TEAS exam? What is the minimum GPA they required?
Thank you so much and hope someone will response.
Best,
Stephanie Anne

Hi! The core WSU requirements are a 3.0 CUM and Nursing GPA and no nursing grades lower than a 2.0, although the average accepted applicant has between a 3.5-3.9 CUM and nursing GPA depending on which campus they applied to. There is a minimum 50 hour healthcare work/volunteer requirement and they do require the TEAS. Because of Covid, however, the TEAS is waived for Fall 2021 and if applicants could not get 50 hours they could instead write an essay on the role of a nurse.
You are only allowed to apply to one campus for the nursing program per application cycle, and each campus has different healthcare settings for clinicals and lab simulations. Of the three campuses, Spokane is the most difficult campus to be accepted into. I would recommend looking at the WSU Nursing website and getting to know each of the three campus to help determine where you would prefer to go, this really helped me!
Hope this helped, I'm happy to help if you have any other questions.
Thank you so much for the response . I am just wondering if I will be finishing my pre-reqs on fall 2021, do I have to apply after I’m done with my pre-requisites or is it okay to apply before? I do not have any knowledge about transferring because I am new in Seattle and I am from the Philippines. Thank you so much Kayk!??
