WSSU/NCAT ABSN 2020

Hello, I know it's pretty early but, I wanted to see if anyone else is thinking about applying to these two programs next year. I also wanted some feedback on these programs if possible. Thank you!!!

I haven’t heard anything either. The cohort was originally supposed to be 30 students but because they changed the admission process this year, they lost a lot of applicants. I was told the 2020 cohort would be only 15 people.

So they will only accept 15 students you mean. Or there is people that has decided they wont come and they have 15 more seats ?

I emailed them and they are saying we should hear it this week. Well, two more days in this week. Lets see if they send notifications by Friday.

Hi, I just got accepted into NC A&T's program, I was wondering if anyone has any info on the program since I haven't been able to find much online. Does anyone know what the program's completion rates are? Or how many people are accepted?

I heard that their ABSN cohort is typically 30 students but this year it’ll only be about 15 students because a lot of people thought they were eligible to apply but they weren’t since the school changed their admissions process from previous years. From a quick google search, it looks like the other nursing programs (Traditional and RN-BSN) at ncat were in trouble in 2014 & 2015 by the state board for not meeting the NCLEX pass rate. Since the program is ongoing, I assume they’ve managed to get their pass rates up. That’s for the board exam. Unsure about the course completion rate.

Hi! I am trying to apply for the NCAT 2021 cohort. I haven’t taken the NURS class at NCAT but I have other health courses. Were you required to take this or did one of your other classes count for the NURS global health course?

You are now required to take all courses before applying. I would encourage u to take the global health class in Summer. U have to take the class, nothing else counts for it.

Thanks for letting me know! Are you in the program now? I'd love to know what to expect and what your days are like. How many people were admitted?
