WSSU/NCAT ABSN 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello, I know it's pretty early but, I wanted to see if anyone else is thinking about applying to these two programs next year. I also wanted some feedback on these programs if possible. Thank you!!!

Hello! I'm planning on applying to NCAT. Do you know when the application will be available? I check their website often but the one for 2020 hasn't been uploaded yet.

I am planning to apply to WSSU ABSN but unfortunately graduated from college with a 2.5 gpa. I have a C or better in the prerequisites that I have already taken. I am currently about to take an anatomy and physiology II and microbiology 4-week in-line course so that I can be done in time for the deadline. Hopefully that will help my gpa. Does anybody happen to know if anybody has ever been accepted in with a 2.5/2.6 gpa?

I've heard it's possible. They also look at factors like experience, test scores, recommendations, etc. And if you're taking other classes right now, they calculate that into your overall gpa.

Thank you @archie22 that really give me a boost of confidence! Hopefully I will get in! I know it’s early but I just want to be ready and prepared.

Hello all! I'm a current WSSU ABSN student, we're halfway through the program. I'm happy to answer any questions you have!

I was accepted to the program with a 2.99 GPA from my first BS degree, but I had As and Bs in all of the prereq courses. I think most students that are accepted have over a 3.0. They do consider other things like healthcare experience, but if I remember correctly they don't give you a spot on the application to add other things like extracurricular experiences and volunteering.

I'm planning on applying, but I'm less worried about getting into the program and more worried about moving to Winston in December! ? I live about fifty minutes outside the city, and I'm definitely going to need that time to sleep and study. Also: My car cannot handle the commute, so... Yeah. ?‍♀️

If anyone else is planning on moving to Winston if they get in, hit me up so we can figure something out! ?

Has anyone applying to NCAT seen an update in their application in terms of them receiving your transcripts? I sent mine the first week in August and got an email from my school that it was received but my NCAT app hasn't been updated, I've been calling the school and leaving voicemails but no response back.

I have applied to WSSU’s program....currently living in Charlotte and plan on moving there if I get in. Best of wishes to everyone!!!

I have applied to the program. I finished cna class but did not take my cna exam or teas test yet. I have taken the prerequistes and completed them. Is their a time frame on when i have to get them the TEAS test i was planning on taking it in september 3 or 4.

Hello everyone, I applied to both NC A&T and WSSU and got into both programs. For those who applied to NC A&T, I had my interview in September and got accepted in November. However, our application was due in August. The earlier you turned everything in, the higher chance you would get in since there were more spots. I waited until the last minute so I was in the final interview rounds. I turned in all of my transcripts, application, essay, CNA verification form, and TEAS score at the same time. I was still doing the nutrition course and renewing my anatomy class since it expired when I applied. I was accepted to WSSU in October so I accepted my spot there.
