WSSU ABSN spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone, I curious if anyone applied to WSSU absn next spring. I am not sure if I can apply to WSSU since I am only graduate in December this year from UNCG. I have all the prerequisite requirement for this program but not sure about the chemistry course. In the websites, only general chemistry for chemistry requirement. I took CHM 131 with a lab in GTCC but I am not sure it still counts. Please feel free to give any opinion, suggestion or advice. Thanks

My GPA from NC State was a 3.35; however, I did take several prereqs (A&P 1, A&P 2, Micro, Developmental Psych..is this a prereq?) at Wake Tech and had a 4.0 from there. I'm not 100% about everyone else in my cohort, but I have heard people talk about making B's and C's in their original degree. I don't know if this helped at all or if they threw it in the trash, but I wrote a letter with my application about my CNA experience and other job and life experiences that I thought would attribute to my success in the program.

Thanks! That makes me feel better since our GPAs are similar and I also have a 4.0 in prereqs so far from my community college. I'm so nervous about this!

I'm pretty sure most of the people in my cohort, myself included, had given up hope by the time we received word about admission...lol. It is very stressful!!! Good luck!!!

Do you know of anyone else that sent in supplemental background info? I have been thinking about doing the same. Secondly, my cumulative GPA is 3.4, and my GPA for the prereqs is 3.75. Do you think that will be good enough to get in? Lastly, do you think that where we got our first degree affects their decision?

Milly451, I am in the same boat as you! My gpa is lower but my prerequisites are A's and B's. Did yall send official or unofficial transcripts? I know it says you can send either but I wasn't sure what most people planned on! Also, is it a rolling admissions or do we all hear back on one date?

I have gone through many posts on WSSU's ABSN, and so many people say they have 4.0's in prereqs. I noticed that you were in the boat I am currently in with both As and Bs. Would you say most people in your cohort got As and Bs or only As??

Hi guys! I am applying to the 2019 ABSN program. I am a little worried my GPA is on the lower side compared to the rest of the comments. I have a cumulative 3.2 and an exercise science GPA of 3.4. What was everyones GPA getting in??

ALSO--- does anyone know if WSSU favors students applying from in state versus out of state?

Thank you :)

another thing... is the traditional program less competitive than the ABSN?

I am planning on applying to start Jan 2019. I was wondering if someone could shed some light on my chances of acceptance. I will have a degree in Health Promotion from Appalachian State with an overall GPA of 3.75. My pre-requisite grades are: Anatomy 1: B, Anatomy 2: B-, Chemistry: B, Human Micro Biology: B+, Developmental Psych: B. I am very worried that I have no chance of being accepted. Any feedback would be great help!
