I'm looking for some links that pertain to the actual laws on the federal and state levels regarding CNA: patient ratio in nursing homes. Ive been having trouble locating this info. Anyone know where I might find it? Thanks.

I'm not sure there are any. CA is one of the few states that has mandated nurse: patient ratios in the hospital setting. That does not apply to CNAs. There are possibly national guidelines but no laws.

I suspect that there exist few or no evaluations of the kind that you're seeking.

There are state standards that are certainly not optimal.......A Google search found this....https://www.google.com/search?q=state+staffing+regulation+for+CNA+in+nursing+hi%3Domes&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#q=state+staffing+regulation+for+CNA+in+nursing+homes&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&spell=1

Check with your states ombudsman

Here is a good one, it goes through all the states....State statutes for Staffing in Nursing homes.

Thank You for the info Esme! Looks like I may have to tweak the paper though, to relate more to nurse: patient ratios.
