Hey anyone have any tips for writing the test in jan... i've been outta school for 2 months. I have a book called the Canadian PN EXam Prep guide. Is the NCLEX test the same in teh USA as it is in Canada?? I've heard alot of people on here saying it's on a computer, but we were told to bring pencils and erasers and that it's an 8 hour test.... thanks

Hi,

Im a canadian who just took the nclex. I currentley live in Minneapolis and took the Kaplan (guarantee to pass) course. It was 1 week long and cost $425. It was well worth it becuase it teaches you how to answer the questions. There are 265 in total on the computer... No pencils needed. There are alot of prioritizing questions and make sure you know about erickson.

wish you luck and p.s just found out I passed :)

OK, before this goes off on a complete tangent:

1. The original poster is writing the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Exam -- NOT NCLEX.

From what she posted she's already written it and we should be hearing from her soon...

NCLEX is easy. Just practice questions on the computer at home and review your wrong answers. I was averaging about 61% on the test questions, but it took me 1 hout 30 minutes to do the test! It is all computerized through Pearson View Testing Centers which is another $200 on top of the already pain $200. You'll do fine!:lol2:

The original thread is more than a year old. I am sure that they have their results already. January, 2006 was the test date.

You never know with Canada Post.....:jester:
