wow, school nurses are awesome!

just wanted to say thank you for all you do! -- i know i sound corny, but..

just did a school nurse observation for my peds rotation today and was a real eye opener! im not going to lie, although i was kinda looking forward to the experience, i thought it would be a lot more laid back, and dare i say, easy. we were so busy all day! i loved the interaction with all of the staff at the school-- psychologist, teachers, cafeteria staff, guidance counselors etc. and i saw how you can really make a difference in the kids' lives. i was at an inner city elementary school and couldnt believe how many kids didnt have health insurance, or the parent's 5 phone numbers that were listed were all disconnected. The school nurse worked really hard to educate the parents on free health insurance opportunities for low income children and hunted down phone numbers like nobody's business!

anyway, just wanted to say thanks, and let you all know that you are appreciated!

Ashley I am so proud of you!!!!!!!! you are doing really well on your clinical rotation and i just wanted you to know it was noticed!!!!! Keep up the good work! and I will be here if you need any moral or educational support!!!
