Would you take the exam or push it back with this prediction test scores?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi

I am driving myself tears with something so silly.

I took my last uworld predictor test - borderling with 37th percentile.

then took the free rn nclex mastery simulation nclex - 62%

I was so shook. I have been studying all this time and uworld told me the same thing as it did last time.

It's my 2nd time taking the nclex.

I took the 75 nclex mastery simulation and got 78%.

I felt better but then realized "what should I do?" go fourth and take this exam on wednesday or just push it back to the next available date of january 2nd. I just feel so lame when I told myself I wasn't going to push it back anymore.

please someone respond to me

I'll respond to you, although I'm not sure how helpful it will be.

I've just started with Uworld in the past couple of weeks, so I haven't done the assessments yet. I've worked my way through about 500 questions or so, and my graph shows me in the 94th-95th percentile. I want to go through all of the questions before I take an assessment. Then I'm going back through all of the questions I have marked. Then I will take my second assessment.

I think my point is that even though I am scoring in that high percentile, I still see so many things I don't know or feel I have mastered just yet.

What will be harder on you: continuing to plow through studying, or taking it now and possibly failing NCLEX again? I think only you can answer that one.

I own the NCLEX mastery app. I didn't know there was a simulation on there. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

hi i'm taking mine too this wednesday. i'll just have faith that i'll pass these time. my anxiety is way up

I have only done the ATI predictor and Uworld normal tests so I am not familiar with how the predictors work. Is that 68% chance of passing or 68% as a general score on the test?

Hello, honestly hun it all depends on how confident you feel and if you are ready!. I know many people who had borderline or a low chance on their self assessment on u world and passed the NCLEX on the first try. And I know people who had a high or very high chance on their self Assessment on uworld and failied the nclex. Personally, I took the nclex when I couldn't study anymore I did uworld the entire qbank 2000+ questions TWICE and used Mark K religiously. I graduated in June, didn't started studying until September and took nclex November 24th of this year and passed on my very first try. It all depends on you !! Believe in yourself

When I finished Nursing school (2014) the predictor scores rated me as low on passing the NCLEX (we had ATI testing), I honestly can't remember my score, but it was low enough that my instructors were worried. Anyways, I decided to study using the HURST review. I did an in class review course and I did the online version and gave myself a month ahead of my planned test date to study. The important part is to schedule your test date and then just devote the time to focus or reviewing. Don't let other things distract you from studying.

I passed with 75 questions...so I know it can be done. You can do it!

Don't feel lame about pushing it forward, it IS a big deal and shouldn't taken lightly. I don't know what uworld is but most predictor tests probable have some validity to them...but not always.

Hey Julsca,

I remember scoring extremely low when first taking the practice NCLEX NLN exams back in 2011. It's okay to initially see low scores but they should improve as you review and study. Honestly, I would push it back to Jan 2nd if you feel you are not ready. You'll only feel more anxious and stressed if you don't feel somewhat prepared. It's only a couple of weeks away anyway. Use the time to review more! Good luck!

PS: I personally used NCSBN Learning Extension (LearningEXT.com) online review course (along with various NCLEX review books) prior to taking the NCLEX and I think it most definitely helped me pass the first time (it stopped at 75 questions and took me about 40-45 minutes)!
