Would you take class over if you made a "C"

Don't know what happened but I'm only making a C average in A&P II (made B in A&P I)....so my question is:

Should I go on and take Microbiology (last of my pre-reqs) next semester or retake A&P II? The NS will accept a C as a minimum grade but not sure if I should retake it for a better understanding of the physiology part of anatomy.

Your advice is appreciated.

I would only retake a class if it was necessary. Even if you take it again and ace it, it'll be the average of the two grades.

That is not always true, I am guessing it is school dependent because I have retaken a class and they used the higher grade.

Lucky. :p

For the OP, in my experience with Micro, there was little A&P review in the class. Either you know it, or you don't... and if you don't, you have your book to refer to.

If anything, this possible C in your class should push you to do better. A C isn't the end of the world, but a string of them really isn't good.

not every school does that :wink2:

I would go on and take micro, and then apply to nursing school. If you dont get in, take AP over again if you feel the urge. But atleast this way you already have given it a shot even w/ a C.

As for the person who got As in nursing school... I think thats great. But I also think that all programs are different. And all teachers, and some are just plain tougher than others. Not that you do not earn the A you get, because i know its hard everywhere. But when nobody in an entire class gets an A, in a program where spots are given based on pretty strict/high testing scores (i.e. everyone should be decent test takers to begin with), it suggests something. I'm sure my school is not the only one like that, but it IS like that. If 1/3 the class got As I would be one of them, but as it is, about 1/3 of the class is NOT at risk of failing (even after 3 "cullings of the herd" have already taken place), and I'm just happy to be one of them.
