Would you stand up for a doctor and give him or her your seat? If so why?

I do not know how to makes this a real poll

If I'm actually doing something or working, nope I'd probably would'nt even notice the Doc. But if I was just sittin there, and they needed to dictate or something, sure I'd get up. And then I've got out of my chair in the past for a Ortho resident that was way preg. nver met her, did'nt really know her name, she just looked tired.

I'd get up and give my seat to anyone who needed it more than me, whether that's a fellow nurse, a tech, an NP or an MD. If I need to be sitting wherever I'm sitting though, I'm not going to give up my seat JUST because there's a doctor looking for one. But I don't work with doctors who expect that, either.

Same for me

I would have to arge with tweety because if you gave up your seat to someone you never know someone might give upther seat so you can sit down.

If I'm not busy there, then yes. If I'm using the area as a workspace and can't easily move--no! I have moved (as a tech) many times for nurses who need the phone, computer, etc... While I am doing my charting--I can stand and do that, they on the other hand can't stand around the desk and use the computer. Same for the doctor...
