So as an update, I GOT a B on my Anatomy Class and an A in my statistics. Which then leads me to a gpa 3.55
I don't think it's competitive enough though but I'll keep trying. Anyway to the point:
- work part time 25 hours a week
-taking Microbiology, Physiology, and a history class (so I won't be coming home until literally 10:30 pm.
I've been asking around and a lot of people are telling me to drop history and the job because I would be seriously overwhelmed. I do get financial aid, however I need the extra income to pay for my car and the bills. However, I'm not even sure if I need the history class. It's literally my last IGETC requirement and it says I don't need it to transfer.
Last semester I was part time and to be blunt I'm broke especially becuase all the money goes to my car because it's all that I have.
I'm really scared of going over 90 units in fafsa, so I don't wanna waste my aid over a class that I don't need.
But should I take the history class anyway? Should I quit my job? I have no volunteering experience which I should've done. But I don't have time at all because on the weekends I'm literally working the whole day and I can barely take the weekends off.
I was thinking of quit my job and be full time student again or drop history, just take micro and physio with my current job?
I'm just so overwhelmed and just ugh. I'm trying to apply to the nursing program at CSU east bay, SJSU, CSU Channel Islands, CSU Sac if anyone cares.

If you do not need the history class to transfer and you are afraid of going over your units I think dropping history class would be your best bet. Especially if you need the income (we all need an income) quitting your job wouldn't be helpful. This is just my input tho. Best of luck sounds like you are almost there!

This semester I will be taking A&P 2 w/ lab as well as Micro with lab, psychology, and another class while working 20 hours. Some days I don't think I will get off until 11 pm. I need the funds as well. I don't think you should be TOO overwhelmed with those classes, but then again it depends on how you will manage to incorporate studying into your day-especially after a long day of classes and work. That's still something I have yet to figure out for myself.
But on another note, if you're sure you don't need that history class, drop it. Don't waste money taking a class you don't need. If you're not sure, contact someone that would know and see what they say then go from there.

I think of you could only manage a B in anatomy you shouldn't take micro and phys at the same time both of those classes alone are harder than anatomy for most people.

History is a super heavy class. I would drop it unless it was absolutely needed. I had a friend last semester that took Micro, Statistics and History, she went from making A's to barely passing all her classes. She was going for radiology and did not make it in

I'm at CSUS and I think your gpa is competitive enough, it just depends on your TEAS score and how well you do in micro and physio. That said, I would drop the history class. History is very information-dense and would be a hassle to take with those two difficult classes. Of course, if you have good study skills then your load should be doable. Good luck with whatever you decide! :)

Drop the history class. You NEED to do well in physio and micro.
Don't stress about volunteering. None of those schools (I applied to them, too) even had a space on their application for volunteer experience.
Taking two major sciences will be overwhelming enough. Just focus on those, and do your best to work if possible.

I did 5 classes last semester. Granted I don't work but I am a single mom so I had a lot on my plate. I had A&P II with micro last semester. I made it through just fine. I had to have excellent time management skills though. I think you will be fine as long as you manage your time well. Also remember to take care of yourself. Make sure you are eating and getting the proper amount of sleep. It makes a huge difference in how you will feel and getting stuff done. I could see a big difference in productivity when I wasn't taking care of myself.
well that's my overall gpa. I have just taken anatomy and chemistry which I got a B in both classes. I have dropped the history class. But now I'm concern about my articulation agreements
thank you! Also I have another question for you (anyone really)
For San Jose State nursing I sent my forms for the articulation agreements for my microbiology, psychology 1, and psych 41 human development class last year (about 2-3 weeks ago after the holidays) and still haven't received a response yet.
So I called today and I felt so upset because the lady on the phone was just so rude to me. I simply explained to her if they have received my articulation packet in the mail yet and starts telling me "this is a semester school there's no faculty and to stop calling". I have only called once which was that time! This is no joke and I was just so upset because I'm on the verge of being either accept of denied because I have supposedly not completed the 4 golden classes (all english, math, speech, which I have already).
Do you know if they accept microbiology from Los Angles Pierce College and Los Angeles Mission College?
I've read their articulation agreements and it says it doesn't articulate. But the lady who did the nursing pre orientation thing told me to send them anyway because it's worth a shot.
I'm going to call tomorrow again, but wow. I understand having people constant calling but that was in no way professional of how she spoke to me.
