Is it worth going to school for a lpn??? Or just stay a medical assistant??? I've heard that it is stressful becoming a lpn. I'm sure the pay is different then a medical assistant. Are their jobs for a lpn?? And are lpn's in demand???

Job outlook for LPNs is dependent upon your geographic location.
I completed a medical assistant program 15 years ago and could never land a job that actually paid a living wage. However, the LVN license was very much worth it for me.
Sorry but I don't know how to use the quote botton. From my understanding nursing is a competitive field which means that it might be just as difficult. I also heard that there is a shortage in nursing, so why is it so competitive if there is a shortage?? I live in the midwest, Kansas City, Mo.

If you want to be a nurse, then become an LVN. I don't know what the job outlook is like where you live, but for me I never had a problem getting a job. Also, LVNs can work in more areas than MAs.

Competitive because the hospitals/clinics/companies want experienced nurses over newly graduates. I think thats why it's competitive.
But as long as you've got the time to study and balance work, why not? Aim for the sky! :))
I also heard that there is a shortage in nursing, so why is it so competitive if there is a shortage??
How long did it take you all to land your first job???
THANK YOU. AORIOLA:yes:
I got my first LVN position right after I got my license in 2010.

I received my first job offer 1 week before graduation. I worked there with my temp license in orientation status until I took boards a few weeks after graduation. When I passed and my license posted online I was moved from orientation status to a regular floor nurse.
