Has anyone heard about the sad news that the reviewees under Gapuz Review Center in the Philippines are anxious of the initial report that the PRC is going to investigate the issue about the examination leakage that spreaded all over Gapuz reviewees thus if proved true all the examinees board examination papers may be invalid.

I was just worried because my friend happened to review under Gapuz. Any inputs or confimation is greatly appreciated.

PRC asked to freeze release of 2006 nursing exam results

By Vincent Cabreza, Desiree Caluza

Last updated 07:46pm (Mla time) 06/22/2006

BAGUIO CITY -- Ninety-one nursing graduates of Baguio universities petitioned the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) on Thursday to put the members of the Board of Nursing "under preventive suspension" for test leaks that were allegedly distributed during the June 11 and 12 board examinations here.

The petitioners also asked the PRC to stop the release of the test results until it could determine how handwritten samples of the tests were leaked to some examinees identified with the R.A. Gapuz Nursing Review Center, owned by Professor Ray Gapuz.

Lawyer Cheryl Daytec-Yangot, sister-in-law of one of the complainants, Lilian Grace Yangot, asked the PRC to delay the scheduled July 2 release of the results to allow the commission "to re-compute the scores [by] disregarding the leaked questions."

The complainants, however, said in their affidavit that examinees, who benefited from the test leaks "did not author the irregularity and should not be punished."

The complainants also wanted the PRC to "blacklist" RA Gapuz Review Center, which boasted a 98 percent passing rate in previous examinations.

"We would like to assure everyone that if indeed there is any truth to any leakage, the RA Gapuz Review Center absolutely had no participation and would not countenance any such act," said Roderick Salazar III, counsel of the Gapuz Review Center.

Salazar said Gapuz has yet to receive a copy of the complaint.

The alleged test leaks were photocopied and distributed to applicants wearing uniform jackets that bore the RA Gapuz logo, which was why the center had been included in the complaint, lawyer Yangot said.

I'll try to look for other updates

Hi Shenling !

Thanks for posting this update. For us who does not have the time to search news; what you've done here is greatly appreciated.

At least, now we know what's going on.

:welcome: sure thing , i dont have anything to do but wait....

To mistyeye... All praises to you too for believing in one good person, that's Sir Ray. I would still recommend to everyone to try his review center and see what they would get or may I say learn. Not Leakage as others would like to claim but simplified FOCUS on a lot of subject matters especially for med-surg and the 80:20 (classmates, remember this?!) . Frankly speaking, before the closed door coaching, some were expecting tips for the board exams the next day... but sad to say, all lectures and some guest speakers.

I also agree with whammy78, somebody (maybe dying of ENVY) must be behind all these text brigade and fallacious reports and all... Can't they just do their part in helping newly graduates attain their dream of becoming good nurses?

Peace to all!

Shenling, the leakage they were saying were review materials just like the test questions reviewees answered during the review classes. According to INQUIRER who has a copy of such, it contained reference materials where you could refer to for the RATIONALE.

Let's just hope that things would turn out right for everyone.

Peace to all!
