Worried about Bullying

I'll be working at a summer camp for 2 months and it's at a clinic with other nurses. I'm used to working by myself, so this is will sort of a new experience. I work at a school as a medical aide and I like I'm by myself and no one bothers me with anything. I used to work at a cardiology office but I left after a year because of constant bullying. I'm worried I'll have the same thing happen, I'm very quiet and I try to not cause any distress anywhere but because of my timid nature and social awkwardness, I'm worried I'll be bullied again. Last time was because it takes me a while to get the hang of things because of my ADD, but I try not to let my disability define me. Because of this, the co-workers would start treating me like I'm stupid and I didn't like it. I'm far from stupid, but because there's too much taking my attention, it's hard to concentrate on what's going on. (I am on medication, but in between changing them again.) Any tips for me and maybe how to defend myself?

Thank you.

Instead of going in on the offense, go in expecting to find people you'll be able to work with. Going in expecting to be bullied, you're going to find something that's going to be bullying to you- even if it isn't. It's called confirmation bias. A positive attitude won't only change your expectations, but those coworkers are most likely going to be picking up vibes from you as well- what kind of vibes do you want to be sending out?

I do want to get along with them, I hope I will be able to. I already talked to one of them and they were nice and gave me lots of advice for my first year there. I'm fine with phone conversations but in person I get super nervous and scared I'll say something wrong.

Just be yourself, your authentic self. Try not to anticipate bullying, or expect it. Sometimes our energy we put out brings negative things back to us. Just be positive and helpful and real. It will be ok.
