Worried about a B

Hi,

So in my Chem prerequisite, I am going to receive a B with no possibility of lifting it to an A. I am extremely worried and wanted to know if I should already start academically planning for a plan B? Don't know if this has ruined my chances already..

I'm not clear why you think your chances are "ruined." A "B" is still above average. Please don't be anxious about this. If your other grades are fine you shouldn't be losing sleep!

Well I'm from CA, and just from speaking with students and advisors, they have emphasized a 4.0 and lots of hours of volunteer because of how competitive the programs are here.

If you have already earned the B in the sense you can't get a higher grade, then there is no sense in obsessing about the fact. Maintain the B by concentrating on what you should be doing, and figure out the changes you need to make to insure an A in your remaining classes.

Your chances aren't ruined. You may have to redo something or work harder but they aren't "ruined". You know how competitive the schools in your area are, do what you need to become an eligible and competitive candidate.
