Hello,
I'm still in the process of waiting for my CA RN temporary and permanent license by endoresement. I'll be moving there from St. Louis in a couple weeks. We are primarily moving for my husband's job but unfortunate for me, I won't be able to work as an RN.
What do you guys recommend for a job while waiting for licensure? Or what are you currently doing as a source of income? Is it in the medical field? What am I allowed to do patient care wise? Thanks so much in advance!!!!

you could just take a contract in a compact state nearby until you get your license. Arizona or Nevada (walk through state).

You might look into a job at the VA. I believe since it's Federal, you don't need to have a license for the state that the VA facility is located in as long as you have a nursing license from another state.

Yes, and that's true of any Federal facility/organization -- military installations, Federal sponsored healthcare clinics, etc.

You can try working as a CNA in a hospital you hope to be employed at. Or you can find a non-medical job.
BTW its been 3+ months since I've applied for license by exam. Since yours is by endorsement the wait times are just as long. Don't know your specifics, but that's a long time to wait for license and then finding a job so I would consider a non-medical job if you still haven't found work in a few weeks.
