Working towards nursing degree...

Anybody about to start taking pre-req's or is in the process? I'm starting at my community college next month. Anybody having trouble with the classes? Also, when should I take the TEAS exam? After pre-req's or now?

Thanks!

I'm almost done with my pre-reqs for my LPN program. I'm not currently having any difficulties with the classes, but you really have to focus and devote some time into your studies to keep the highest GPA you can while doing your pre-reqs ( and of course after. ;) ). At my college, we take our PSB any time during pre-reqs, and they suggest by mid-semester of our last semester of pre-reqs to sign up and test to ensure the test results get processed in time for selection.

I'm going to be starting my last semester of pre-reqs next month :-) At my college you take the TEAS after pre-reqs. Might want to wait until you have most of the classes knocked out :-) Good luck!!

Is there a waiting list for your schools?

Hold on the TEAS test as versions of the test change...once you are done with the pre-req, then think of the TEAS, find out which version is required by your school.

Is there a waiting list for your schools?

I live in a pretty small town, and although we have students from other close cities coming to my school for their education, there still isn't as many as there is in other areas, so there is hardly ever a formed waiting list at this school, you just have to meet the requirements to your highest ability, and it's always much easier to quickly get into an LPN program vs. RN, BSN or ADN. As long as you strive to keep the highest GPA you can, score as well on the test as the test as you can, and that's all you can do. :) You may be able to ask other students how long they had to wait to get into the program and maybe talk to your adviser about how big the waiting pool tends to get to get an idea. :)

Best of luck! ;)
