Working while Reviewing: doable?

Feeling unproductive and selfish for asking for parent's money for more than two decades now. If you would please share some of your life's experiences.

For those who have experienced working (as a nurse/ medical transcriptionist/ call center agent/ or any job) while reviewing (self-study/ review center) for any exams (NLE/ NCLEX/ IELTS). Please share your experiences and how did you handle it? Thanks a lot.

I know it gets frustrating when you ask your parents for money while reviewing but I believe that they will understand you and will support you. In fact, passing the test is a good way to repay them. I know how this feels because I am currently reviewing for the NCLEX but I didn't take the Philippine Board Exams because I'm already in the US. I'm looking for a job though because I feel guilty but I am reviewing on my own at the same time.

It can be done.

Ive read the cases of my patient I found interesting. I review how did the doctor came up to a certain diagnosis by tracing what diagnostic test would a physician would order. I also take note of the intervention that the doctor prescribes. Know the medications, surgeries, history of your pt. Go with the doctor on his/her rounds ans appraise him/her of your pt situation. Refer using SBAR. Im sure there is a new knowledge learned each day. If you have worked long enough you would recognize the pattern. You can then evaluate the therapy if it worked on not on that certain pt. By doing this, I was able to know my pt better and become more effective and at the same time "review". I hope this can work on you too. Good luck
