I will be doing that as well starting in January (Spring semester). I have a mortgage, car note and bills so working is a must!

I went to school 5Xwk for 12 months and worked on Saturdays and sundays and i am a single mother of 2. Do what you need to do in order to survive. School is intense but with a enough motivation you can do it.

I did not work during school as suggested, was single with rent and associated bills/expenses planning/saving 3 years in advance in order to enable this as well as take 2 months off before going to work. Glad I did. Graduated with honors. Students who worked eventually stopped doing so after the first semester. This was a 10 1/2 month program boasting a 100% first time pass rate over the past 5 years.
However, nurses I know attending other programs, worked and did just fine.

I'm on my last 4 months of LVN/LPN program here in SoCal. It's a full time 26h/week program (14 months + 1 month NCLEX preparation). I work full time (40-45h/week) as the manager at Auto Body Shop. It's a stressful job. I'm doing just fine at the school. My grades are between 80-90%, plus English is my second language (I'm originally from Russia). I've been in the states for almost 7 years now. After LVN program jumping right into RN (already took my prereqs at the community college). Will try to go as far as CRNA.
Time management is the key!
I'm 24 y.o., live in Hollywood right on Sunsent Blvd :)! MUST find time to go out at list once a week :).
Good luck!

I started nursing school three days after I graduated high school. I still lived at home and I didn't work. Mine was a 12 month/5 day a week program too. Those who did work full-time quit or failed out early in the program. A couple worked weekends, one guy owned a marina so he was able to work a little. If you really stick to a schedule and study hard, you can do it, but it ain't easy.
