It has been 8 years since I graduated high school and this will be my first semester back to school. I'm hoping to get my pre reqs done this coming year and hopefully apply to the nursing program feb 2014. I work 32 hours a week and I plan on taking 12 credits my first semester, it would be 3 classes. English, Math and Biology. Is this a doable workload being that I do have a family and I'm also working? Im very motivated and Im for sure able to dedicate at least 25 hrs to homework, more if need be. Anyone else gone to school full time, worked full time and also had a family to care for? My children are 5 1/2 and almost 2. Dropping down 1 day at work is also an option for me, then I'd have more time to focus on school. Thanks so much!

I did not have children while I went to school but I did take 5 classes each semester and worked a 40 hour job with mandatory overtime. I think you will be fine. You have plenty of hours you are dedicating to homework. It's also good that you have the option of working one day a week. Good luck!

I think you should be fine. Wait until you start and get a feel for things before deciding to drop down to 1 work day.
Id be dropping only one shift, so Id still be working 4 days a week! Im hoping I dont have to cut my hours at all.
