Greetings, fellow nurses
Please give me some advice on this. I would like to know if I get in trouble for this.
I was looking for a PRN agency job some time ago and got an agency to work with. They sent me this place for (Facility A) an orientation but it was very chaotic and didn't feel safe to be working there. I haven't gone back there ever since no matter how hard the agency trying to get me go over there... i have been refusing. I tried to ask them to some other locations/facility but they just won't do it.
About a month ago I found another agency that willing to get me where I like to go and finally everything is in place (all the paperwork and etc..) and getting an orientation at this facility B next week. Then my old agency called me today and told that they could send me Facility B.... (These A & B are different locations but managed by a same company)
My biggest concern is if the management company finds out that I am working with 2 agencies, they will not have me as an agency nurse..
I really like to leave the old agency but I don't know how to leave them at a good term. How can I do that and will I get in trouble by starting to working with another agency?
Thank you so much for your time!!

Completely depends on what you signed, what you agreed to. There are many nurses who work for more than one agency. If your initial employment agreement states you will not work for any of their competitors, then you can get in trouble. Otherwise, they might be unhappy about it, but you shouldn't be getting in trouble. You can just tell them you need work, they couldn't find you any, so you found others who could. I would recommend not burning bridges though, just in case the other agency doesn't work out.
Thank you so much for your advice. Yes, I totally agree.

An agency nurse is an independent contractor. You can work for three or four if you want to. Stand up for yourself.
