Work Schedule

Just got my cna license. Trying to set up a possible work schedule and wondering how I should divide up my work time. Is it possible to work both day and night shifts in the same week? I am currently in my last semester of undergrad, before I apply to Nursing school. My classes are mostly on Monday and Wednesday. I originally planned to work weekends and one or two weekdays. On average looking to work 16-32 hours a week.

You'll have to talk to the facilities that you apply to and see what their needs are, and what they will be willing to do for you. Each place can be different

Every place is different. I just got a job that is flex position, so basically I can pick up whatever shifts are left after the full time CNA's fill in their shifts...so i will be working both days and nights, depending on what I want that week.

I wouldn't want to work both day AND night shift. It messes up your circadian rhythm to the point of getting ill.

It is definitely not ideal if you work full time. I only work 1-2 shifts a week, so switching from one night one week to one day a week later wont hurt too much. :) I have to schedule myself around class and my kids, so I will take a little variety in schedule to do that.
