Work to repay tuition programs

Nurses General Nursing

Hi,

I'm not sure anyone can help me and I'm about at my wit's end. I was in a ADN program a while back and had all my academics done and was looking forward to just doing my clinicals. Well, I got married and went to Germany where I couldn't finish my nursing degree of course. Now that I'm back in the states, I keep hearing about hospitals that will pay for your schooling as long as you commit to working at that particular hospital for about two years. What I want to know is how can I find out about this program in Tucson or if it's still available. I'm still very much interested in finishing my schooling in this field and am aware that I will have to retake classes. Is there anyone out there who can help me?

Why don't you call the local hospitals, as each one will be different. Also, check out your school or talk to instructors. I plan on accepting a $10,000 bonus in exchange for 3 years. The money is out there.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

The money is there. Call the nurse recruiters. I'm a military wife and know all about the constant movin!!! Went to three schools before I could finish. My current hospital pays 1800 /year for tuition reimbursement and 5600 /year loan repayment. Its better than nothing thats for sure.

I thought I posted on this a little bit ago. . . Hmmmmm

Anyways, I just said that even the personell office should have some knowledge on the programs offered by the hospital.

Good luck

Leigh

Thanks everyone for the advice. :) You did comment on this too, Leigh. I just wanted to make sure that I was posting it where others could help me :D

Hi Angel,

These types of programs are offered by the Hospital or Healthcare Network, not paid by the state, so that is the first place to start looking. Just start by doing an internet search for hospitals in your area or call up HR and/or nurse recruiters at the hospitals and ask.

It usually works that for each year of education they provide (usually about two yeras total) that's a year that you have to work for them. If you do not pass the program or decide not to work there, then they usually make you pay back the tuition money in full.

Thanks Colleen,

I'm thankful for all the help that the board's been giving me so far and will be calling the hospitals today. I will let everyone know what I find out :)
