If you receive get a CNM license are you still able to work in the RN capacity in labor/delivery?

If you are not an RN you can not work in the capacity of an RN. Some places will hire you and try to get you to do the RN job so you cost them less but you would be putting yourself in a scary situation legally.
I was getting treatment at a rapid med a few weeks ago and the medical tech identified themself as "the nurse that will be taking care of you today" I was feeling too sick or I would have told them that it is highly illegal to "impersonate" a registered nurse. Our title is protected by law

Try asking this in the cnm forum. I've read in a few places of L&D nurses continuing to work in L&D after they become a CNM while they wait for their first CNM job, but idk about after

Yes, generally speaking. Facility policy may vary. I know several CNMs that work as L&D nurses.

Yes, I know CNMs who have returned to L&D RN positions for the decreased liability or easier schedule. Certainly seems like there wouldn't be any reason not to as long as you respected your scope of practice for the position you're in currently.
