I am looking for some research on nurses who "care too much" and put themselves at risk for burnout and emotional exhaustion. I cannot think of a word for people pleaser either. Can anyone help me out? THanks!

Psychologists sometimes use the terms 'vicarious traumatization' or 'compassion fatigue' to describe the process when a caring professional is burned out by getting too involved with what he/she sees on the job. If you enter 'vicarious traumatization nurses' into Google, you should get a good start.
You might also search www.trauma-pages.org - it's Dr David Baldwin's website related to various types of psychological trauma.
Good luck!
THanks ever so much-and hahahah on the codependant crack. I dont think its that!
