I'm trying to look at our LPN and RN programs to make sure we're covering everything in Fund, Pharm, med surg, ob, peds, psych, gerontology, rn comm. health, rn leadership, pn nut, and pn management. I'm rather new to this position and didn't know if there is a list of topics and sub-topics that i need to make sure we cover to prepare the students for NCLEX. Help!

Goto the NCSBN web site it gives you a test plan and breaks down what % of each topic is on the test. Good luck

The NCLEX can ask you about anything.
I went to the NCSBN and found this, a little more general than i was hoping for.
1. Safe, Effective Care Environment
a. Management Care RN/Coordinated Care PN
b. Safety and Infection Control
2. Health Promotion and Maintenance
3. Psychosocial Integrity
4. Physiological Integrity
a. Basic Care and Comfort
b. Pharmacological and Parenteral Therapies
c. Reduction of Risk Potential
d. Physiological Adaptation
I was kinda hoping to find something more like this in each area for example.
Med/Surg
1. Clients with altered fluid/electrolyte and acid-base imbalance
2. Clients experiencing trauma, shock
3. Care of clients with infection
4. Care of clients with altered immunity
5. Care of clients with Cancer
6. Altered integumentary structure and function
7. Altered endocrine
8. Altered bowel elimination
9. Altered urinary elimination

You can find information on the NCSBN website, https://www.ncsbn.org/1287.htm Once you have accessed the site click on 2007 NCLEX-RN Detailed Test Plan - Candidate. You will find what you are looking for in that document
Leda,
You are wonderful, thank you! I was looking in the item writer version.
