  1. Leda, You are wonderful, thank you! I was looking in the item writer version.
  2. Overall, I don't think nurses are portrayed as bimbos. I understand what your saying, but I believe the overall concensus of most is that nurses are Life Saving Super Heroes!!! Maybe I'm a bit partial though. J/k but really, when you tell somebody your a nurse what is their first reaction? Almost always you can tell not just by what they say but also by their expression that they are impressed........and its not because they think your a bimbo.
  3. I went to the NCSBN and found this, a little more general than i was hoping for. 1. Safe, Effective Care Environment a. Management Care RN/Coordinated Care PN b. Safety and Infection Control 2. Health Promotion and Maintenance 3. Psychosocial Integrity 4. Physiological Integrity a. Basic Care and Comfort b. Pharmacological and Parenteral Therapies c. Reduction of Risk Potential d. Physiological Adaptation I was kinda hoping to find something more like this in each area for example. Med/Surg 1. Clients with altered fluid/electrolyte and acid-base imbalance 2. Clients experiencing trauma, shock 3. Care of clients with infection 4. Care of clients with altered immunity 5. Care of clients with Cancer 6. Altered integumentary structure and function 7. Altered endocrine 8. Altered bowel elimination 9. Altered urinary elimination
  4. I have no issues with it. Do you think people were watching that and said to themselves, "now that I've seen this I believe nurses are sluts and I don't think as highly of them as I used too." I don't think so. There's a better chance that they walked away and thought, "nurses dont listen to their mothers and are greedy." Had to watch the show to understand the last part.
  5. I'm trying to look at our LPN and RN programs to make sure we're covering everything in Fund, Pharm, med surg, ob, peds, psych, gerontology, rn comm. health, rn leadership, pn nut, and pn management. I'm rather new to this position and didn't know if there is a list of topics and sub-topics that i need to make sure we cover to prepare the students for NCLEX. Help!
