Wolford CRNA Fall 2017

Nursing Students SRNA

Just wanted to start a thread for anyone applying to Wolford's CRNA program October 2017. Any completed applications? Interviews? I visited the site and was pretty impressed. My application is on the way.

Honestly - given accreditation and lawsuit issues, why do people even go to school here?

Many people have graduated from here and gone on to have successful careers. Why are you on this thread since you obviously aren't going here?

I'm truly happy for those that have become successful. Congratulations.

My question wasn't meant to make fun of anyone. Honestly curious what it is about this school that attracts so many people, despite the controversies. Location? Cost? Good clinical sites?

For me it's clinical sites, emphasis on high clinical hours, location and a handful of people that I know that have gone and had zero issues. What happened years ago has no bearing on my education in 2017, especially considering the people responsible are no longer there. The faculty that is there is amazingly supportive. I've gone to 3 different colleges/universities and NONE of them are perfect.

Fair enough. Thanks. Good luck to you!

I thought I'd add a reply to the thread. I have also know a few people who attended Wolford and had nothing but great things to say about it. Yes, there is also a lot of negative things out there about the school, especially on the internet, but if you look and see who is actually sharing the negative stuff, it's people who haven't even attended the school. Very few negative things have been said from people who actually attended. My experience so far has been a great one. Are there things that are a little frustrating? Of course! But I can find things to be frustrated about with any school and every school is going to have their own set of issues. The didactic portion of school is good and the clinical portion has been great as well. From my experience, the people who tend to 'whine' the most are the ones who are looking to do the bare minimum and expect exceptional results. The area is also great to live in and tuition is competitive especially when you look at paying the outrageous out of state tuition at other neighboring schools. My words of advice, before you attach yourself to the negative stuff that you've heard, actually do your own research about the school and talk with those who currently attend or have attended and you'll be quite surprised at your conclusion!

I'm truly happy for those that have become successful. Congratulations.

I was impressed with Wolford's campus/facilities, access to faculty members, intimate class setting and clinical sites. For me, the nearest state school isn't well organized and I hate maneuvering the campus. The other school has several campuses within Florida so instruction is from remote locations and the high attrition rate makes it even less appealing. It's the perfect option since I have no interest in teaching anyway.

I just completed my application 2 weeks ago. Anyone else interviewing in August? Seems a bit late especially since the program starts in October.

A friend got in in December and the semester started in February. I think you're good :)

I am in for october!! Anyone else ?

Yep! Where are you from?
