Wish me luck!!

I was surfing the local hospital website one night and saw "train to be a CNA" as the job title...so I applied. I am planning on taking an online CNA program this fall and had hoped to do clinicals at this hospital with the hopes of getting hired there after getting certified. So I figured it was worth checking out.

I got a call a few days later and I now have an interview set up for Wed July 2nd. I'm really excited, I couldn't contain my enthusiasm when I was on the phone. I told her that this is just a step in my nursing career, that I was already planning on getting my CNA. She didn't have many answers to my questions but said she would have them at the interview. I'm going in with my eyes wide open. This would be a great opportunity for me, it's a 5 week course with guaranteed employment where I want to work. BUT I'm not sure if I can get the hours that I need there and I have to sign a 2 year contract. So I guess I'll just have to get more information at the interview and make a decision after that.

Specializes in ICU, ER, Hemodialysis.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Good Luck, let us know how it goes!

Thanks guys!!

I had a really great interview. The position wasn't one that I could accept. They wanted me to commit to 2nd or 3rd shift, fulltime for 2 years. I can't do that.

BUT I made an excellent contact at the hospital. She told me to call when I get certified and she'd see if she has a position for me. She also told me to call her when I start my clinicals for my RN because she'll find me a PCT position.

So I accomplished what I wanted...I have her business card and I'll call her when there is a position that will work for me.

good luck to you......CNA is a great way to begin a nursing career
