I recieved my letter the other day that let us know that registration for the nursing program for winter 09 won't begin until December 26. Being a new nursing student, I was wondering if any former/current students had any tips on registration like, what time registration starts that day and if it's crowded like when you try to register for regular classes (you know, when it won't let you log in and the system crashes and it is very, very frustrating!). I have to work that day so I need to make sure that I can get it done as soon as possible and make it to work on time and there are certain days that I want to try and get for my clinicals. Also I was wondering if anyone had any information on the TBA 4 hr lab that comes in addition to the the 1630 clinical. Is it the same day as your clinical or a different day, when do they let you know for sure, etc... I appreciate any assistance anyone can offer!

Hey. I am also a new nursing student. Are you starting in January or March? I'm starting in March. From the looks of the schedule the only class that isn't at a set time is the lab/clinical. Of course getting in the lab you want is important.

Hey guys,
I just started in Oct so I know a bit but not too much. From what I hear from my current profs we won't know when the 4 hour lab will be probably until we start class! They won't even know who all is teaching until the week of class. Then the instructor can chose pretty much anytime for the lab, and for some it is not the same every week with only notice of the day the week prior. I also heard that some choose to have one 8 hr session every other week.
As for registration, I assume it starts at 12 am but that's a guess. It can't be even as close to as crowded as general registration because there are ony 250 nursing students that need to register rather that the whole campus. You will however be fighting for your lab/clinical times so I would do it sooner than later if you care what time you get. But as for class remember there are 40 students and 40 spots, so you can wait as long as you want and be fine.
Hope this helps!
I start in January. I saw what you were saying about the classes and clinical schedules. There is a certain day I want to try and get because it will better coordinate with my other schedules, but I guess I get what I can get. Looks like I will be staying up late Christmas day instead of Chritmas eve this year...or maybe both, which will make work on Friday really fun! I guess I should start adjusting to the whole no sleep thing though, because I have feeling there are going to be a lot of late night study sessions in the future!:nuke:
If the professor's pick the lab time after you register then I guess it really doesn't matter which one you register for. I was interested in a particular lab time as well, which I'll still try to register for but I guess I'll just plan on having to be available at all times. This is exactly why I asked to get the March start time. My husband will be done with school this spring so I won't have to work around his class schedule. I'm getting pretty excited to start!

The clinical time is as scheduled just the lab time differes so still pick the time that works best for you.
