Anyone familiar with this hospital? Reputation? For a new-ish RN?

Specializes in 5 yrs OR, ASU Pre-Op 2 yr. ER.

Have you been to their website?

I've heard they're a pretty good hospital to work for. I don't know what the nurse-pt. ratios are, though.

I looked at a position there about 7 months ago. I have 30 years experience as an RN. Their salaries were a joke. Their diffs are a joke.

As a new nurse, I guess salary won't be as big an issue. Their starting rate is actually more than I am currently being paid at UVA in Charlottesville. I'm more concerned with a supportive environment to continue to learn in - since I'm having to relocate sooner than anticipated, and don't have that "first year" down yet. UVA has been great in that regard, and I will be sad to leave the great nurses I've been working with.

Winchester doesn't have the greatest reputation. I work with many nurses that refuse to work there or have quit and now commute right past Winc's doors and on into Northern VA... I work at Loudoun and love it... I have many many nurses here that worked at Winchester that tell nothing but horror stories. But this is just heresay... haven't worked there... so can't be for sure. By the way... Ch-ville is home for me...GO WAHOO's

Hey! Hey! Hey! Winchester's right next door to me! I'm down in littl' ol' Front Royal! :)

I know that their CNA starting rate is something like $8.40, but I don't know anything beyond that. Their website is http://www.valleyhealthlink.com. Maybe it'll tell you about pay and all that.
