Has anyone gotten in to the program for the 2010 Cohort? I got in a couple weeks ago. I'm very excited about it.

Anyone graduate from WP-Accelerated Nursing? How did you like it?

Hope all's well.

Hello,

I have a 3.96 GPA in my Bachelors of science and a 4.0 in my pre-requisites and didn't get into WPU. They told me initially that my application was good but there were no seats availabe as its on a rolling basis. However, 2 months later I ran into an old classmate of mine and she called them up, while I was with her, and they told her they still haven't made all the decisions yet. She had a 3.0 GPA from NYU though. Something is not right. I was hoping you could tell me you credentials and your thoughts on it. I can't get any sort of feedback from them. Like where am I on the waiting list? What are the stats or seats opening up? Or a even a deadline on when accepted students have to respond by?

I appreciate your feedback.

Hey! I don't really know. It's kind of strange. I had a 3.7 GPA in Undergrad and a 4.0 in my pre-reqs. I sent my app in at the beginning of January. I was told in December that the seats were already filling up, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were filled by the deadline. I think it said we had to send in our check for our seat by May 1st. Even though they didn't ask for it, I did send in 3 recommendations so I don't know if that helped at all. Also, i worked in the mental health field for a year.

Other than that, I'm not really sure what made the difference. I know a couple people who should've gotten in and haven't heard yet or are waitlisted. It's weird.

I hope you get a final decision soon. Let me know if you hear :)

Hi,

Thanks for your response! I don't know either, I had my application in by early December if my memory serves me correctly, but the final piece came in in Jan. They told me they don't even need recommendations though I had excellent ones. I'm sure your experience came into affect. It's unfortunate for me cause I really did want to do the ABSN at WPU but I got accepted somewhere else into the regular program and it would end up costing me an additional year, since it starts in Sept. And just to make things a bit more odd they gave me my response 3 days before the official deadline!? On the bright side of things, I think to myself that I have more time to absorb it all in a 24 month period rather than 15. I hope your deserved friends get some good news, cause I sure needed it after WPU. Good Luck with the program Concchik13!

Regards

I did not attend this particular program, I went transferred in there and completed my BSN there as my first degree, but I wanted to say that I had a fantastic experience there, the teachers were fabulous and I highly recommend the program. It's only growing and becoming better and better each year. Good luck! :yeah:

Thanks for the post. I am so excited about going to WP. I start in 2 weeks. It's always nice to hear good things about your future school/program. Any tips you'd like to pass along?

It's been a while since I've attended there, and I'm not sure if the program has changed much, but I would say get to know your profs through their office hours, ask lots of questions, ask for help when you need it and try your best! Same as with any other school :clown:

If you can get involved in the class officers and be a delegate for the NSNA, I had a blast driving to New Orleans my senior year with my friend--we learned a ton, met so many people and really enjoyed it.

Good luck!
