Any thoughts on the school or nursing program???

Specializes in icu/er.

exactly what bucknangler stated, but i'll add way to expensive. not to hijack a thread but you need to be aware of what the new healthcare reform is going to do to the new nurses within the next 2-4 yrs. jobs and pay may become pretty bleak...its tight times out there for new and experienced nurses now. just please do some research on this issue before you drop thousands of $ and hrs. good luck.

current carey student and i love the school and professor, definitely fast-paced but as long as you do your part you should be fine, you can inbox me if you have any questions

:yeah::yeah::yeah:Class of 2010:yeah::yeah::yeah:

bornleader,

I'm applying to the Nursing program at WCU this fall. I'm in Hattiesburg now, but I am considering moving to the coast (where I'm from) to attend the Traditions campus. Is there any information you could share about the program at WCU? I've only heard wonderful things, and I have been so pleased with the staff members!

Hi sara, i cant speak for the other campuses but having graduated from another university and attending carey i can definitely tell you i love carey and my nursing professors and even the rest of the staff in the nursing dept. They all really want to help and see you succeed. The professors have )een available when i needed them and i really feel like they want all students to pass as cliche as that sounds but that doesnt mean they are going to pass you, ive had to work very hard for this degree but knowing the professors are there and willing to help makes a big difference, let me kno if u hv any more questions

Oops i forgot to say im at the hburg campus

I have TONS of questions!

Do you have any idea what the GPA and TEAS score needed to get in are? I know the minimum composite score, but I'm interested in the scores that the people accepted made. Also, what are the clinicals like? One of the reasons I'm thinking about the coast campus is because there are more hospitals down there. Since I want to live on the coast, I thought that doing clinicals at a coast hospital during school may help me get a job after graduation.

Do you have any advice for a pre-nursing student? I will take the TEAS in September. I am very excited and hopeful to start the program in the Spring!

I already have a degree in biology from LSU. how long does it take to get a BSN from WC?

I'd like to go the New Orleans campus!

Phoenix- which campus are you taking classes? how long is the program itself?

Bsn equal 18 i recall correctly

Months** i forgot that part, lol

I attended William Carey New Orleans and graduated August 2010. I took the boards under the new harder system in November and passed. 3 days later, I received a job. (Period)

I have nothing to say bad about William Carey. All I can say is that during the interview and several random encounters people have said "I heard that school was hard." My mother also graduated from the school in Mississippi. Again, my mother has nothing bad to say about the school.

Of course people are going to fail out. Every nursing school has that happen to students. However, one must remember that negative feedback travels at a faster rate then its counterpart.
