Will this route negativly affect me.

Hello readers, I really hope to get some opinions and maybe some advice, After reading a lot about anesthesia providers both CRNA, and MDA I have developed a really great interest in the field, I am young at 19 years of age, and am curious, if I started at a lvn program and eventually did a lvn - bsn bridge, would this negativly affect me when all is said and done while I am trying to apply for a CRNA program?

No, it won't have a negative effect other than taking a longer time to become a CRNA versus just going straight for your BSN. I did CNA, LVN, BSN, and then CRNA/MSN.

Most RN programs will let you sit for the LVN-NCLEX after your 1st year of nursing school if you are wanting to goto work asap as a nurse.

I would locate a CRNA program in your area and talk to their admissions people. Getting into CRNA school is hard. If that's what you definitely want to to do, be sure you have all the facts before you get too far along.

No, but it may take you longer. If you can just go for the BSN. After junior year, some programs allow you to take the LVN board and then you can work as an LVN as you finish up. You will want to take into account that you will have to fill those educational voids that are not covered in LVN school.

It would also depend on your area and what kind of work you want to do. Where I live in Texas, there are very few LVNs that get hired at the hospital. Most end up in nursing home and home health agencies.
