I work at a adult day center, I sent someone to the hospital because he demanded it. It was for itching. I didn't call his emergency contact until 3 hours later. The emergency contact called the center and is upset, wanting to sue, call department of aging.

no dementia but forgetful.

Unfortunately, anyone can report you to the Board. If the Board investigates and determines it is a violation of the nurse practice act, charges could be filed against your license. I wish they would pick there battles. They have so many others who have made more serious errors.

OP did nothing to violate the Nurse Practice Act. She did not make a non-emergency/ non-required telephone call in a timely manner. Period. End of story.
