Will I be able to take my NCLEX in December?

U.S.A. Texas

Hello! I graduate on December 6th. Assuming that my school sends our transcripts fairly quickly, will I even be able to take my NCLEX in December due to holidays and all of that? It's hard to know, because we aren't able to look at Testing Schedules until we have our ATT and are registered with Pearson VUE.

Just wondering if any of you out there have graduated and tested in December?

Or should I just prepare to take it in January at the earliest?

I graduated in Dec, didn't get my ATT til the end of Jan and the earliest test date was the first week in Feb.. Its not highly likely but not impossible, however, you should prepare yourself to test later than Dec.

Have you started filling out your stuff on the Tx BON yet? Fingerprints and background check take quite a while sometimes.

I had everything done on the BON site and they were just waiting for my graduation stuff. My graduation date was July 15th, but they actually had my stuff from the school on July 9th, but there were no test dates available in Houston (with 3 test centers ) for over a month. Closest and earliest date was in San Antonio on July 30th.

So while possible, not really likely, especially if you have not started the BON stuff yet.

I'm graduating in December as well and we've been told not to expect our ATT until after the holidays. I guess it just depends on how fast your school sends the required documents to the BON!

I graduated with my LVN Dec 9 2011. I live in Austin, where the TX BON is, so my instructor just dropped our information off and even we did not receive our ATT's until after the holidays. I scheduled my NCLEX the first day that was available which was Jan 12, 2012. IMO that's a good thing. Enjoy the holidays, enjoy a break, then get back to studying.
