I am planning to move to Florida. When I looked up my new Florida license on line it gave out my home address. When I applied for my Florida license they said you cannot use a post office box. I had planned on working in corrections in Florida but now it looks like any inmate could look up my name and pay me a visit? What to do?????
The only people in FL that were able to be listed as confidential were fire/rescue employees, law enforcement/dept. of corrections and judges. This was done under a law after Sept 11. Now they are changing it that even these career lines list their work place instead. I was employed as a firefighter paramedic and am still listed as confidential for those certifications, but as an ED nurse I had to list place of employment. When you apply for licensure in FL it gives you the option to list place of employment or home address, this is also able to be changed via the web (Flhealthsource.com). It still amazes me that some people make the choice to list their home addresses when the information is so easily looked up via Florida license verification.
Inmates show up at your home all the time. They're delivery people, service personnel, neighbors, etc.
There are millions of ex-cons in the U.S. It's hard to go anywhere without bumping into someone.
Whether or not your address is public, an interested inmate will find a way to get it.
That said, I would venture to say that few people have every had this come up.

They can get your address in many different ways, not just your license. What about all the people search databases there are online?
