Will my course load be too much to handle?

I'm planning taking pharmacology, statistics, pathophysiology and chemistry lecture and lab.will this be too much to handle. Have any one done this before. I don't want to set myself to failure, since I'm trying to raise my GPA

Do you work, are you married, do you have kids...? All of this plays a role on how much time you have to devote to the classes. Also, how have you done in your other classes, are you strong in science and math?

If you do not have children and you don't work (or work very little) so that you have a large amount of time to devote to studying, then I believe that schedule is do-able, but you must also be strong in science and math. Otherwise, you are setting your GPA up for failure.

That is a heavy courseload, and only you truly know how much you can handle at one time. Just remember that each of those classes require a large amount of time devoted to each one in order to excel in the class and come out the other side with a good GPA.

I have a daughter that is 6. Currently I'm not working, but am looking for a part time job. I'm very good in science, but really bad in math.

What would you advice me. My other option is to take pharmacology, pathophysiology, statistic and some really easy class to be full time. Than take chemistry over the summer time.

I would drop chemistry and lab, and pick up an easy humanity or art elective if you have to in order to stay full-time.

I agree with X_factor. Chemistry is challanging by itself, as are all of the other classes you've mentioned. If you are trying to raise your GPA I think taking Chem over the summer is the way to go :)

I agree with x_factor but I will say that my art elective I took was not easy. I have a 3.67 GPA and art was hard. Make sure you schedule your classes in a way that gives you the best chances for the highest gpa possible. I was thinking about getting a part time job in a year as well. I am a stay at home mom of 3 kiddos getting my prereqs. I have heard and read post that it is hard for new grad nurses to get a job. The part time job I am going to go for is a cna. I hope that working at a hospital and hope that will give me connections after nursing school to get a job or get in the residency program that the hospitals in my area have.

The first semester of my nursing school is Health Assessment(4), Pharmacology(4), and Pathophisiology(3). And I also have to take statistics (I would forced the second semester if I don't take it this semester), so our schedules are very similar except for Chemistry/HA.

I figure since most people make it through the first semester plus nutrition (which is forced the first semester if you haven't already taken it), so I can make it too.

That is exactly why I'm looking for the part time job. Currently I'm looking for CNA training. I need to get my experience in, so by the time I'm a nurse I can get a job faster and be a better nurse. I want to work as a CNA also to see if this is what I want to major in.

We are in the same boat. I just finish taking nutrition, which was a easy A.

I almost had a panic attack just reading your course schedule. It will depends on how strong of a student you are and if you can handle these more demanding classes. Did your advisor advise against this? I would hope so, because that seems INCREDIBLY difficult. I the amount of studying you will have to do for all those classes will be insane. Patho was a lot of memorization. I had to study quite a bit for that class. Pharm takes a lot if studying. I would definitely advise you to take two of those science classes out. My friend took Patho and Pharm in the same semester and she failed pharmacology and barely passed pathophysiology. She was also taking a nursing course, too. Nobody can tell you what will be too hard or too much for you, but that course load would require a tremendous amount of work and effort.
