Will a Canadian citizen with an American BSN get a job in the USA?

Hi everyone! I am a Canadian citizen with a Bachelors of Science from the University of Toronto. I recently applied to the University of Rochester's Accelerated BSN program (which is a fast track 1 year program) and got in! Now, I want to know what my chances are of getting a job after the completion of the program and also after passing my NCLEX.

Do a lot of Canadians get jobs as nurses in USA?

Also, can I come back to Canada and work? Will Ontario allow me to write the CRNE?

Any help or insight on this matter would be greatly appreciated,

As far as sitting for your CRNE with a US degree, I can't say. I know for certain though that border towns allow nurses to cross for work. Many nurses in Detroit, Michigan live in Windsor, Ontario. I've been told that upwards of 5,000 Windsor residents work in Detroit Healthcare! It is actually like one large metropolitan area. I also know that the VA (Veterans Administration) accepts international nursing licenses, so if you live near a VA clinic or hospital, that could be an option.

I have the opposite question for you. If you have an American BSN could you work as a Nurse in Canada?

Unfortunately it may not be an option for the OP, as applicants need to be an American citizen to be hired for most US government jobs including those at the VA. Still, the OP has nothing to lose by asking.
