Wilkes University FNP Spring 2020

Hi I just accepted a spot at Wilkes University for their Spring 2020 start in the FNP program. Is there anyone in the program now who can give me more insight? I know the program is fairly new at least the FNP part at Wilkes. The nursing department will be mailing me all my information in November, but I’m anxious and want to see what other students think and recommend! Also anyone else accepted into that class I would love to connect with others who are jumping into this with me!

Would like to follow-up to see how the program experience has been so far. I've applied and got accepted for the Fall2020 semester FNP track. However, the communication with this school has been like pulling teeth. What has others experiences been?

Hi guys, Sorry to chime in this thread. I am actually applying for the MSN FNP program at Wikes for Spring 2021 but just wanted to know if you all have any information about how the practicums gonna be like. Do they help arrange the clinical sites for practicum or are we supposed to find the preceptor on our own? How have your experiences with the university been so far?

Do they actually help find clinical placements???? Their website said. "Guaranteed Clinical Placement". Please, let me/us know....this will be the last determining factor!

Yes I am wondering the same. Have you already applied? Also, as per their website, it seems like their nursing programs are not authorized in all states. Unless someone is planning to only practice in the authorized states, I don't know how is that going to workout. I am just not being able to decide right now.

I was able to speak with an enrollment advisor, and they said that starting in 2020 they are now finding clinical placements for students!

I have not yet applied, but I definitely am now!

Hi everyone. I also plan for applying for the Spring 2021 semester. But since it is a newer program just wanted to know how are people liking the program so far?

I am starting Psych NP Post Masters Certificate in the fall as well. It has been hard to get ahold of someone to find out which of my classes are transferring.

Hi, I have also been accepted for the FNP track for fall 2020. I just paid my deposit. Are you still on board with Wilkes? I could not find any thread in here for FNP Fall 2020.

Hi Everyone, 

I am currently deciding on joining the Wilkes Spring 2021 class for the FNP track. Would also like to know how people are liking the program so far?

Also, to answer the above questions regarding clinical placement, I was told by the admission counsellor that they do provide clinical placements.

However, I am aware that Wilkes only accepts students from particular states that they have affiliations with. For example, they don't accept students from NY because they don't have an affiliation with NY clinical sites. However, I reside in NJ and they told me that they accept students from this state and will provide me with clinical sites. Only caveat is that these sites that they offer can be anywhere from 50-200miles or so from your residence.

it discusses what is required on our behalf when we start practicums.
