Widener ABSN January 2020 Program

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello!

I was just wondering if anyone else was thinking of enrolling in the program. I submitted my enrollment deposit of $200 and am waiting to look for housing after confirming my prereqs are being accepted by the school.

If you are decided in going, what are your next steps? Did you enroll in classes yet?

Hi!

I know this is an old post but I was wondering if you ended up going to Widener's ABSN. I was just accepted and am trying to get more info!

Hi there @ECB0112. I figured I'd jump on this forum with you. I just was accepted to Widener's ABSN for Fall 2021. Are you set on this school or have you applied elsewhere? This was the first acceptance letter I received!

Hi!! Not totally set yet but it’s looking like it’ll be between widener and two other schools. I’m trying to see what the cost will be before I make a final decision.

I was too ! I’m wondering the cost and aid available

Hi - is there another thread for Fall 2021? I was just accepted too and I was curious how long we had before we had to put our deposit down. I am waiting on a few other schools. I know the letter said May 1 but I'm a little confused about the line in there about the wait list.

Hi! Sorry for my late response.. but the deposit isn't due until May 1st! I think if you are waitlisted they extend the deposit due date until you are officially accepted but I'm not sure about that.

Also!! I actually got in touch with someone who is currently in Wideners ABSN. She gave me a lot of in site to the program so let me know if you guys want me to post what she told me.

Oh OK great! I saw the line in the offer letter about there being limited spots and I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't lose my spot if I didn't put down a deposit fast enough, but as long as we have until May 1 that is fine. And yes, please post what she told you I am really curious what the program is like!

Sure!! I’ll just copy and paste her texts ? She’s in the second semester right now just FYI! They’re also virtual right now bc of COVID and who knows if we will be the same!

”as far as scheduling the accelerated program we’re night time classes! the earliest class we typically have is like 4/430 and you go to about LATEST a little after 8 but most professors don’t keep us on that long. so last semester we had class Monday-Friday with either a Wednesday off or Friday off (depending on your lab day) and this semester with clinicals we have class Tuesday-Thursday and clinicals on fridays and sundays OFF mondays! so it varies! but being that we are all evening you still have your days which I think is nice”

she also mentioned that the first semester classes were fairly easy and she didn’t really struggle. She went to a different program at Neumann to start and said she likes Widener so much better bc of scheduling, professors, and the amount of help offered.

Did she happen to mention where the clinical locations were? Just curious if they are more in the Chester area or closer to the city.

I can ask her!
