I'm in the worst mood right now because my physiology teacher is trying to fail us!!! i did pretty well on our first two tests (Bs on both) so my average was a high B. then came the cardio test. ugh i did not do so well; i got a 72 (which is failing because a 75 is a C at myNS). We just took our fourth test and before the curve i got a 60!! after the test i heard a student tell him that the test was reallly hard (which it was!!) and he said "I know it was really hard, i made it like that on purpose"...this is ridiculous!! this same teacher failed 30 out of 100 students last semester from physiology! i studied sooo hard for that test and these questions come out of left field! i know my grades probably dont seem that bad but i need a B in phys because i plan on going back to school for my NP. i just dont know what to do because he is seriously trying to ruin some peoples lives. i have my GI test next followed by our final like a week later so i only have those two grades to bring my grade back up. any tips on what i should do about this pain in my as* professor??

Are you saying the teacher should make the tests easier???
Not good at all.
Remember. When you fail a test. YOU failed. The teacher didn't fail you...
Do you REALLY want nurses whose teachers made it easy?
no i don't want nurses whose teachers made it easy but i would also like a teacher to give FAIR questions. i don't think a teacher should try to fail his students because there are alot of people out there who could be great nurses but someone failed them over something that shouldn't have even been on the test.
i studied very hard for that test so NO i don't think i should have failed AT ALL
Well, if you studied hard...
What happens when you are a nurse and you get a patient who is circling down the drain and you aren't ready to help them.
Are you going to tell the charge nurse that it isn't fair because you studied and studied but this patients condition came from left field and wasn't fair???
If you say you studied hard then study harder...
Life isn't fair.
Failing isn't the end of the world. Spend less time blaming the instructor and use this to learn something. Even if you DO fail if you learn something from your failure you won't fail the next time...
people come to this website for HELP not for people to criticize them when they are having a problem. maybe you should try to look at a problem from another perspective besides your own or just don't post. people don't need others to put them down when they are already having a problem!
please get off your high horse and try and support your fellow nursing students
It's called constructive criticism. You don't have to take it. No one is making you.
Keep blaming people. Blame me if it helps.
Don't ask for advice and then get angry when it's not the 'advice' you want to hear.
Good luck in your class.

Although it seems like some professors are out to get you, it all about them challenging you and getting the best out of you. 30 out of 100students failing in a physiology class is good percentage-wise.
There is a professor on my campus who gets off on failing students, oops I mean CHALLENGING students to see there greater potential.
How about these statistics: 1rst test.. qbody failed, only one girl got a D which is still failing in Nsg school.
5 out of 26 students passed by the end of the semester.
approximately 80% failure rate.
Stop worrying, as much as your professor would like to have this kind of power, his/her one class will not stop you from becoming a NP.

pick a prof is good for stats, I found my chem teachers and she has a 43% fail rate for the class. That means almost half fail. I feel your pain.

There's a difference between difficult and unfair. Is it possible that if you adjusted your study techniques and test-taking strategies to this type of class, you'd be more successful next time? Perhaps your professor could give you some guidance on what you could do to improve, or you could ask some other students what they have found works. No one likes to hear it, but you own your grades, the good ones and the bad ones. Best of luck on your next exam.

Can you post an example of the unfair questions?

im sorry but the truth is...in nursing school, teachers are paid to weed out the weak...its all one big test, and its up to you to pass or fail.
Good luck.

But some questions will be rather stupid and never either show up on boards or be useful in real life...
